And welcome. I'm just gonna warn you now, it's really not going to be all that useful to you. The information here is going to be really disorganized and honestly, fairly boring to anyone who isn't me (or who knows me at least).

This paragraph is to test the basic styles of inline elements. These elements include big, small, ^sup, _sub, a, i, b, q, s, strike—now obsolete—code for bits of code, samp for sample output, kbd for text to be entered by the user, var for math or code variables, em, strong, del, ins, cite, dfn, abbr, and acronym—also obsolete. I may have missed some, but not all of these actually need styles just now.

Sometimes people add little bits of stuff into their content, such as photos or notes. These can be wrapped in the <figure> tag, like this:

Other times people want to show a block of code, specially preformatted to be more portable with maybe a simple copy/paste. For that, there's the <pre> tag. Below is an example also exemplifying (my understanding of) the current best practices.

The <figure> and the <pre> are both block level elements, so they don't like to sit inside <p> tags.
